Gavaskar "Gavin" Sharp is a principal and co-founder of Capital Venture Group, LLC (CVG). Mr. Sharp systematically oversees the corporate financial functions including periodic statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and investor relations for CVG, its clients and portfolio companies. Mr. Sharp draws upon years of diversified business experience, blending a strong emphasis on accounting and finance practices from previously held managerial positions with Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust, Jackson Hewitt and Wilkins McNair, PC where his responsibilities included business consulting services, leading audits, preparing focus reports, quarterly/annual compilations, tax-planning, tax-consulting, and tax-preparation for corporate and individual clients.
Mr. Sharp also co-led structuring the multi-million dollar finance and acquisition strategy to purchase a 30,000 square foot entertainment venue in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Sharp successfully implemented internal controls including structuring an entire back office operations in one of the city’s largest cash-based concert hall businesses, increasing efficiency and profitability to over 75%.
Within CVG, Gavin has made a market for his firm as a business coach offering clients financial consultation as a Virtual CFO, assisting clients with improving cash flow, enterprise turnaround, financial visibility, cost controls, cash management, and organizing start-up companies. As a financial architect, Mr. Sharp has designed accounting systems for the day-to-day internal controls of financial operations for various business models, including transportation, land development, retail, construction, professional services and bar operations. Gavin Sharp has a Bachelor Degree of Science in Accounting and Finance from Morgan State University.
